Bodywhys Website

Bodywhys is The Eating Disorder Association of Ireland, and has long been a champion of progressive online services. In fact way back in the 90's Bodywhy’s pioneered one of the world's first online group support and counselling services.

The internet based national support service has been a massive success, bridging the gap between face to face services and those who might never otherwise seek support or therapy. This has helped many more non-profits see how valuable a similar online service could be to their service users.

So when it came to Bodywhy's online strategy and website they wanted it to be equally forward thinking. The biggest priority was accessibility and readability. The new website is primarily designed to be a resource site for the charity, and a relatively large one at that. Our challenge was to make it feel light and easy to navigate. As with all text heavy websites this is always a tough challenge but one we overcame through simple design, good use of white space and solid information architecture.

We've also started to promote social media use throughout the site, with calls to action to most of the big social media networks like Facebook, Digg, Reddit and Technorati. Bodywhys, a very forward moving non-profit organisation when it comes to technology, is continually evolving their online presence. We'll be working closely with them to further integrate the website with the social media sphere and keep developing their Search Engine Optimisation strategy.
