Project: i-figure, and mind and body Model.

Project Overview

Bodywhys, Eating Disorder Charity of Ireland, funded by the Vodafone Ireland Foundation approached Cubedroute to design and develop an interactive multimedia Psycho-Educational CDROM.
The intended audience are teenagers aged 14yrs - 18yrs. The CDROM will have national exposure, being made available to all secondary schools, youth groups and health care professionals.

The design planning stage of the project was crucial. The main challenge was to appeal to a broad spectrum of teenagers in a vibrant and youthful way, without losing seriousness or appearing patronising.
Taking into account that the teenage audience is quite digitally saturated in this information age, we had to be careful that everything we did was fresh. Another important factor to take into account was that it had to be user-friendly for teachers, and make factual information readily available through-out the CD.



So the challenge was to make something that was colourful, dynamic and engaging as well as easy to use. The content in ‘i-figure' focuses on issues such as self-esteem and body image, the relationship between food and mood, and media literacy. Personal stories are included as a way to help the student relate to the issues. The CD is highly interactive, with the student being prompted to stop and explore features at regular intervals.
